                                                                                   Dress Code
Attire is important for how one dances and moves in their body. We want proper attire to promote self-confidence and easy mobility. Here is a breakdown for all classes and their dress codes.

Ballet
- All students are expected to wear bodysuits (any color).

Minis to Pre-Teens
- Mondor ballet pink tights
- Capezio canvas ballet shoes

Teens

- Mondor Salmon tights

- Bloch canvas ballet shoes

- Skirts are welcome to class, but please make sure we can see your knees.
- No jewelry (small earrings allowed).
- Inter and senior dancer: Please be aware that no bras are to be worn under your body suit as all body suits have built-in bras. If you need more support, please wear something accommodating to your body suit. You are more than welcome to wear a sports bra under your bodysuit.

- Boys: T-shirt, tank, shorts. Black full-sole ballet Shoes.

Jazz
- Options are body suits, sports bra, tank tops, shorts, and or leggings. You need to be able to move in your clothing and not be distracted by it. Depending on the schedule you may not have time to change. Sometimes putting shorts overtop of your body suit is the easiest way to go. Clothing that can be a distraction is not appropriate for class. We want their full focus on participating in class.
- Mondor light tan
- Bloch 499 Beige jazz shoe
- No jewelry (small earrings aloud)
- Boys: T-shirt, tank, shorts. Black split sole Jazz Shoes.

Lyrical

Level 2 - 3

Bloch Showtapper Tan tap shoes

level 4 - 5
BLOCH Ladies Jason Samuels Smith Tap Shoes, Black

Boys: T-shirt, tank, shorts. Black Tap Shoes lace up.

Hip Hop
- Students in hip hop are expected to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing, and clean indoor, non-marking sneakers. (In the past combat boots have wrecked the CE floor and had to be cleaned as they left black rubber marks.) Please NO combat boots for class. But they may be worn for competition.

Competition Dancers
- For classes do NOT wear your best tights. Class is to use up all of your previous tights that you own at this time.
- Shoes, you do NOT need to buy new shoes for the beginning of the season. I suggest you wear what you have and over Christmas break purchase your new shoes so that the students have time to break them in.

Hair
Hair for all students in ballet class MUST BE IN A CLASSICAL BUN. Hair for the rest of classes must be pulled back into a ponytail or braid. Please pin bangs out of your face so we can see your pretty smile!

***Please note that grooming and proper attire is very important when attending dance class. It allows the students to move freely without restriction, and it also allows us teachers to see their bodies to help improve and correct body alignment. Absolutely NO JEANS. ***

Extra Expenses for costumes
- Buying new shoes that fit the student at Christmas time.
- You can also buy second hand! Ask around the dance community, there are Facebook groups, Dance Street sells gently used shoes as well.
- New tights for competition season - One pair will be added to each costume this year!
- Costume for competition (more details on other page)
- Possible Hair piece (If it does not come with one and the choreographer would like to add one)
- Steamer for costumes to get wrinkles out.
- And extra expense will be for any ALTERATIONS that may be done. Not all will need it, however it is also important that they fit the children correctly.
- If doing solos and duets an extra expense will be for costumes.
